Singapore’s Little India district is one of the most original ethnic enclaves in the country. Many of the other ethnic districts have lost their charm, mainly caused by the demolition of older buildings to make way for modern shopping malls and plazas. Luckily with Little India, much of the place is still left intact; therefore you can expect one of the most authentic eating experiences there! Here are some of the best places to eat curry and other Indian food in Singapore’s Little India district.
The Saravana Bhavan located on 84 Syed Alwi Road, is a great restaurant serving up fresh Indian vegetarian food at very reasonable prices. This restaurant is actually a franchise from Chennai, India. For about 5.00S$ (Singapore dollars) you can get a complete lunch set that will have you full for the rest of the day! The place is open throughout the day from 8:00am all the way until 11pm at night.
Sagar Ratna also located on Syed Alwi Road, on unit 103, is another great vegetarian restaurant. Similarly it is a franchise, but from Delhi, India. Set meals cost between 5S$ to 7S$. Particularly one of their most popular dishes is the rasam, a spicy lentil soup, which you must try.

Prices hover around the 15 S$ to 25 S$ (Singapore dollars) range for a complete meal for one person. If you are ordering the set dishes, then the biryani rice and curry vegetable side dishes are “all you can eat”.
